June 21st , 2008  update

Progress continues!

New rails for the new front
steps were high on the list of
things to do this week.

Along with a lot of primer, the
rails really begin to give the house
a finished look.

Inside one of the more important accomplishments was the installation of the new windows.  Old fashioned float glass was
used to retain the original look.

The important work stripping old paint down to bare wood continued as well. Anyone who has tried it will tell you this is hot, dusty, difficult, and time consuming work.

While David worked inside on wainscoting, Wallace was outside stripping a mantel.  The value of the work volunteers have contributed to this project will probably never be known but should be recorded as "substantial!"

And while everyone else was occupied outside or upstairs, down the the damp stuffy
basement Joseph was re-pointing brick.  It was still another in a long history of necessary but un-glamorous  jobs...
